3                 Declaration of Interest

Members were reminded of their obligations in respect of declaring any interests. K Robb declared an interest in applications 2 to 4 and did not vote on their allocation of funding.

4                 Reports

22.3.1         Distribution of the Sport New Zealand Rural Travel Fund

To consider applications received for the Sport New Zealand Rural Travel Fund, and to allocate funds appropriately.

B.      That the Assessment Committee consider the applications received for the Sport New Zealand Rural Travel Fund and recommend appropriate funding is allocated that is consistent with the Sport New Zealand Rural Travel Fund guidelines and eligibility criteria.

 

Central Otago Whitewater

Travel from Alexandra to Hawea, Tekapo, Roaring Meg, Skippers and the Clutha for Training.

Roxburgh Area School – Junior Cricket

We use funding for petrol vouchers which we distribute to families to offset the cost of travelling throughout Central Otago to compete in a weekly cricket competition.

Roxburgh Area School - Miniball

We use funding for petrol vouchers which we distribute to families to offset the cost of travelling to Alexandra to compete in a weekly miniball competition.

Roxburgh Area School Netball

We use funding for petrol vouchers which we distribute to families to offset the cost of travelling to Alexandra to compete in a weekly netball competition.

Millers Flat School – Netball/Rugby

Fuel vouchers will be purchased and distributed to families that take their children to Netball/Rugby on a Saturday. It will contribute to the large expense rural families incur.

Matakanui Hockey Club

All of hockey teams need to travel. Receiving the travel shows parents how much we appreciate all the travel they do so the kids can participate in sport and learn the values of playing in a team.

Maniototo Junior Hockey Club

To purchase fuel vouchers that we will give out club members to assist with some of the cost of their travel to games.

Alexandra Swimming Club

To help our swimmers to travel to local swim meets and compete against swimmers of their own age and level and continuing developing their skills and enjoyment of the sport.

Maniototo Netball Club

This funding will be used to reimburse parents a little something to keep encouraging our young people to keep playing sport. For our netball club to participate in the weekly competition our players must travel to Alexandra each week which is a big commitment travel wise.

Dunstan Arm Rowing Club

To assist our students in fuel costs to transport boats to regional regattas twice a month.

Cromwell Rowing Club

Assistance with cost of fuel for vehicles going to regattas. (Vans carrying rowers and vehicles towing boat trailers).
